Porthtowan is a small town with a large sandy beach on the North Cornwall coast. The beach is popular with surfers. There are cafés by the beach. Porthtowan Beach is about 9 miles from Truro. On the A30 at the Chiverton Cross roundabout turn onto the B3277 the road to St Agnes (signposted to St Agnes). After about 2 miles turn left at a crossroads (signposted to Porthtowan) and follow this road for several miles to Porthtowan. There is a car park close to the beach.
