Weir Quay is a quiet riverside halmet on the east bank of the river Tamar a few miles south of Gunnislake. There are fine views of the river and there is a yacht club, slip ways and a boat yard. Above Weir Quay, the ruins of the South Tamar Mine can be visited. Weir Quay is about 2 miles south of Bere Alston which is about 5 miles from Gunnislake. On the Gunnislake to Tavistock road the A390, on a roundabout turn off onto the B3257 (where signposted to Bere Alston). Continue on this road to Bere Alston and at Bere Alston turn left where signposted to Weir Quay and follow signs to Weir Quay. There is a small layby car park at Weir Quay.
