Lopwell Dam is a dam on the river Tavy, which is a nice place to visit with a picnic area beside the river. The river up to the dam is tidal and at low tide the dam can be crossed to the west bank and there are woodland trails on the west bank of the river. There is a visitor centre and café. Lopwell Dam is about 3 miles north of Plymouth on the A386. On the A386 there is a signposted turning to Lopwell and there is a route through country lanes to Lopwell which is signposted. There is a car park at Lopwell Dam. Photos include photos of Lopwell Dam and photos of the river Tavy.
