Wheal Jewell reservoir is an unusual narrow reservoir on the west edge of Dartmoor. The reservoir was built in 1937 and feeds a nearby power station. From Wheal Jewell there are fine views looking across the west of Dartmoor. The reservoir is on open access moorland about 1-2 miles from Mary Tavy on the A386 road. On the A386 after the Wheal Betsy mine there is a small layby by the road for parking and Wheal Jewell is about 30 minutes walking.
