29 photos of Tavy Cleave, Dartmoor

Tavy Cleave is a steep and picturesque river valley on north west Dartmoor. The river Tavy flows through the valley. Tavy Cleave is a few miles from Mary Tavy. Take the A386 to Mary Tavy and turn off at the Mary Tavy Inn where signposted to Horndon. Follow signs to Horndon and after Horndon continue north following signs to Lane End. After Lane End there is a small car park on the edge of open moorland. From the car park walk across moorland to the small tor Nat Tor. Below Nat Tor is a leat and there is a path beside the leat which leads into the valley above the river Tavy. Follow the path into the valley past Ger Tor to Tavy Cleave. Note that this part of the moorland is part of the Willsworthy Range and should not be accessed when the range is in use.
