26 photos of High Willhays, Dartmoor

High Willhays is a large hill with rock outcrops on North Dartmoor, which is the highest point on Dartmoor and there are fine views from the top. High Willhays is on open moorland which is part of the Okehampton range, this is closed to the public during firing times. There is a public car park within the range. Take the A30 to Okehampton. In Okehampton town centre, turn onto George Street (which is by the White Hart Hotel). On George Street, take the third right onto Station Road and continue on this road which becomes Tors Road. This road leads out of Okehampton, under the A30 and then to the Okehampton camp. Continue past the warden gate (if it is open) onto the moor to the Rowtor car park. To reach High Willhays, from the car park walk west past Rowtor, then up to West Mill Tor and then continue up the track to Yes Tor. From Yes Tor, there is a path south to the summit of High Willhays.
