53 photos of Whitsand Bay, South East Cornwall

Whitsand Bay is a super beach on the South East Cornwall coast with 3 miles of sand at low tide. However, access to the beach is steep and there are limited facilities. There is great walking along Whitsand Bay and east to Rame Head. Whitsand Bay is 24 miles from Plymouth on the A38. At Trerulefoot turn onto the A374 and shortly after Polbathic turn onto the B3247. There are 2 car parks and limited road parking along the bay. In summer, fields are opened for extra parking. Photos include photos of Whitsand Bay from the coast path and photos on the beach at the various access points at Tregonhawke, Freathy, Sharrow Point and Tregantle. Note the beach at Tregantle is occasionally closed for Tregantle Fort firing range operation, which is indicated by a red flag. Also note that there are dangerous rip currents.
